My basic approach to teaching is to find ways for students to enjoy playing and learning about music, regardless of age or ability.
This approach can apply to any style of music: jazz, blues, rock, classical, pop, country, hip-hop or whatever type of music the student prefers.
The fundamentals of music including scale and chord construction, structure, reading, performance, improvising, etc….. can be learned in any genre.
I have discovered over the years that students will be much more dedicated and willing to practice a style of music that they enjoy.
